Before you print

  • Scan it with your own phone before you print a single copy.
  • Print it at least 2 cm across, bigger if people scan it from a distance.
  • Keep the white border around it. Phones use it to find the code.
  • Dark code on a light background. Inverted codes trip up some cameras.

Questions

Is it really free?
Yes. No sign-up, no watermark, no limit on how many you make, and nothing to pay later. We don’t charge for QR codes, here or in the app.
Will my QR code stop working?
Not the ones made on this page. The address is written into the pattern itself, so the code works for as long as the page it points to does. Some QR sites hand you a code that runs through their servers and switch it off when you stop paying. These don’t go through anyone.
Can I see how many people scanned it?
Not with a code from this page: it goes straight to your link, so nobody counts it. For that you need a tracked code, which passes through a short link we look after and counts each scan on the way. Those are free in the DiscoverWorthy app.
PNG or SVG?
PNG for screens, emails and documents. SVG for anything going to a printer or signwriter, because it stays sharp at any size, from a business card to a shopfront.
Will adding a logo stop it scanning?
No. When you add a logo the code switches to its strongest error correction, which lets phones read it even with the middle covered. Always test with your own phone before you print.
Do you keep what I type, like my Wi-Fi password?
No. The code is made in your browser, on this page. Nothing you type is sent to us or anyone else.
